The byline that shows up at the top of your beehiiv Publication can be changed or customized right from your account. Generally, the byline is of the person that wrote or published the newsletter consisting of a profile picture and name, but you can customize the look of it.

Disclaimer: The beehiiv platform has evolved since the filming of this video, so parts of the user interface featured in the video will be slightly different than what you see in your account. In particular, directions for Email Template should be Design Lab instead, as refelected in the written instructions below.
How to customize your Publication byline
1. From the lefthand panel in your account, go to Settings > Design Lab.
2. When the Design Lab opens, first click the access arrow next to Background to close it. Then, scroll down to Email Header and click on its access arrow to open it.
3. In the Email Header option, you can adjust the following aspects:
- Underline author links
- Font family
- Font color
- Accent color
- Font size
- Avatar size
- Vertical spacing
- Font weight
- Date format (optional)
Any changes that you make on the left will be reflected in the preview on the right.
4. When the byline looks as desired, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner, then click Exit to leave the Design Lab.
