The footer is always found at the bottom of your newsletter/Publication and its content can be customized to your liking for the most part. The one thing you can't change is the final tag that says 'Powered by beehiiv' as it is part of our business model and one of the ways we are able to charge such competitive rates (the only exception to this are our Enterprise customers who use private branding).
Watch and learn: Footer Customization
Disclaimer: The beehiiv platform has evolved since the filming of this video, so parts of the user interface featured in the video will be slightly different than what you see in your account. In particular, directions for Email Template should be Design Lab instead, as refelected in the written instructions below.
How to customize your Publication footer
1. From the lefthand panel in your account, go to Settings > Design Lab.
2. When the Design Lab opens, first click the access arrow next to Background to close it. Then, scroll down to Email Footer and click on its access arrow to open it.
3. In the Email Footer option, you can adjust the following aspects:
- Font family
- Font color
- Background color
- Outer spacing
- Inner spacing
- Social links background color
- Social links icon color
- Border thickness
- Border color
- Border width
- Custom Content (this opens a new window, watch the video below for more info)
Any changes that you make on the left will be reflected in the preview on the right.
4. When the footer looks as desired, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner, then click Exit to leave the Design Lab.
Please note that adding custom footer content will not remove the content in the existing footer, it will only add to it.
