Upon logging into your beehiiv account, you’ll first be greeted by the dashboard which has 4 tabs and opens on the Overview tab, next to the Audience, Engagement, and Monetization tabs. In this article, we’ll go over all of the bells and whistles that you’ll have access to from these 4 dashboard tabs and how you can make the most of the helpful at-a-glance data and insights that they provide.
Overview tab
The Overview tab consolidates some of your high-level metrics like your list size, key engagement data, recent posts, and gives you easy access to resources.
Here, you’ll be able to see the following metrics:
- The total number of Subscribers and the percent it’s changed from last month, plus a chart showing the progress of all active subscribers over the selected timeframe.
- Your current Open Rate percentage, plus the percent it’s changed from last month.
- Your current Click Rate percentage, plus the percent it’s changed from last month.
You can easily customize the charts and metrics by clicking on the down arrow next to the timeframe in the right corner.
Below this, you’ll find your impact chart that’ll show you how many subscribers you acquired that were driven through the beehiiv network versus alternative growth channels.
Audience tab
The Audience tab dives into your subscriber metrics showing you:
- Your total number of Net Subscribers and the percent it’s changed from last month, plus a chart showing the progress of your net gain of subscribers over the selected timeframe.
- Net represents all of your subscribers, from New Subscribers to Unsubscribes.
- Your current New Subscribers percentage, plus the percent it’s changed from last month.
- Your current Unsubscribes percentage, plus the percent it’s changed from last month.
You can easily customize the top 3 metrics by clicking on the down arrow next to the timeframe in the right corner.
Audience charts
You can switch the featured chart by clicking on the down arrow and choosing between Net Subscribers, Audience Breakdown, or Subscribers by Day to see them laid out by tier (free or paid).
Top Acquisition Sources and Referrers
You’ll also find a helpful recap of your new subscribers categorized and ranked by the Top Acquisition Sources and a Top Referrers list with links to click out and view a full report of either.
Additional Resources
On the right side of this dashboard tab, you’ll find some helpful recommendations to help streamline your growth and audience analysis. Simply click on the feature or tool, and you’ll be brought directly to it on the platform.
Engagement tab
The Engagement tab allows you to select a timeframe and analyze your Open Rate, Click Rate, and Impressions. After you’ve collected enough data, you’ll also be able to see the percent that the metric changed from last month, noted by an increase in green and a decrease in red.
The Top Posts data below is where you can filter by Open Rate or Click Rate by clicking on the down arrow option next to the type.

On the right side of this dashboard tab, you’ll find some quick links to other ways you can enhance your newsletter content. Simply click on the recommendation, and you’ll be brought directly to it on the platform.
Monetization tab
Currently, the Monetization tab is all about Boosts, but our plan is to present earnings reporting for your Ad Network and Premium Subscriptions in the coming months. For now, you can see the total amount earned via Boosts and a chart showing its progress over the selected timeframe.
Recommended Boost Offers
You can further monetize your newsletter by checking out the Recommended Boost Offers available to your account.
If you’re already set up with Boosts and have a Stripe account, you can click on the Get Paid button on any of the offers you see. Otherwise, click the pink Boosts Marketplace button to get started.
