Watch and learn: reCAPTCHA Spam Protection
Keeping your account secure, beehiiv has installed reCAPTCHA v2 (also known as Invisible reCAPTCHA) spam protection across our platform. Unlike traditional reCAPTCHA which requires users to solve puzzles or type distorted letters and numbers, reCAPTCHA v2 seamlessly monitors browser behavior to distinguish human interactions from bot activities.
This feature is automatically enabled to help prevent bots or automated systems from entering data into your beehiiv account, providing a powerful tool against automated spam. It acts as an invisible line of protection and helps to prevent bot signups, ensure optimal list hygiene, and optimize deliverability.
How to turn on or off reCAPTCHA v2
- Log into your beehiiv account and from the left panel options, go to Settings > Website then click on the Advanced tab found up top.
- Scroll down to Configuration and slide the toggle on or off for Enable Stricter Site Security?.
Note that while this function is optional, it may be particularly beneficial if your site is frequently targeted by spam bots. Keep in mind that reCAPTCHA does have a small false-positive rate (less than 1%) where genuine users may be flagged and rejected. You have the option to disable it at any time, but we strongly advise against it.
