Watch and learn: Guest authors

Disclaimer: The beehiiv platform has evolved since the filming of this video, so parts of the user interface featured in the video will be slightly different than what you see in your account. In particular, when accessing a post in your account to feature a guest author, you would go to Write > Posts and then select either a new or saved post, as outlined below.

How to add guest authors to a post

  1. From the left hand panel in your account, go to Write > Posts.

  2. You can either select to edit one of your saved posts, or click on the Start Writing button to enter the post editor.

  3. On the right side of the post editor, be sure you are on the Post tab, then scroll down to the Guest Authors section.

  4. Click the arrows under Guest Authors to select an author that you have previously added to your account. Or, click on New guest author to add a new one.

  5. For new authors, a form will appear on the right. Add the new author’s Name (required), their Twitter Handle (optional), and a Profile Picture (optional), then click on the Save guest button.

  6. You can further customize the guest authors’ feature by adding a specific Display Date that will appear at the top of your newsletter.

Or, by toggling on/off the options for:
  • Show byline in email: This will show the author’s name and headshot at the top of your newsletter.
  • Hide from feed: This will remove the post from any RSS feeds that you may have set up.
